The Friends of Glen Canyon Park tend to the park and restore restore native plants the third Saturday of each month, 9 a.m. Meet behind the Rec Center. Tools, gloves, instruction provided.

The Neighborhood Parks Council has histories for city parks, including a chapter on the rec center in Glen Canyon.

Glen Park

The Glen Park Community Plan, written by residents, merchants and city planners, is a cohesive design for the village and environs. There is some funding, and the plan is moving (slowly) through necessary city approvals.

Meanwhile, the GPA has created a list of feasible, incremental projects that can be accomplished ahead of the plan.

The San Francisco Clean City Coalition links resources to neighborhood groups, merchant associations and residents.

Hate that car parked outside? Check its tags. If they are expired, email the vehicle description and location to Ingleside Precinct Capt. Paul C. Chignell. So long as the owner is not waiting on new tabs, the vehicle will be towed.

The Glen Park Library has a new space above Canyon Market. Come celebrate the opening at 2825 Diamond Street on October 13 at 2 p.m. Bird & Beckett will take the current library space at 653 Chenery and a restaurant will open at B&B.
