Reminder from the Glen Park Neighborhoods History Project:
Ho, Ho, Ho, Neighborhood Historians!
Don’t let the prediction of rain keep you at home this Saturday! Join the Glen Park Neighborhoods History Project for a Special Holiday Meeting at the Sunnyside Conservatory on Saturday, December 10, 3pm to 5pm, followed by a holiday social and raffle until 6:15pm to kick the season off! We’ll learn about the unexpected connection between Glen Park and opera diva Luisa Tetrazzini; our Sunnyside historian Amy O’Hair will present notes and new discoveries about W. A. Merralls, the inventor and entrepreneur who built the Sunnyside Conservatory, and his wife, Temperance, followed by a dramatic dialogue written by Amy entitled, “An Inventive Life: Temperance Laura Merralls” and performed by actor Val Fachman. $5 to $10 suggested donation at the door; GPNHP members free! See the two attachments, or visit our Events page to learn more!
Happy Holidays!! See you Saturday, and thank you for supporting our neighborhoods’ histories!
