Amos Goldbaum Mural in GP

January 27, 2021 by Heather World

One of San Francisco muralist Amos Goldbaum’s signature line drawings may soon grace the exterior of Pebbles Cafe, thanks to the efforts of Bernal Glen resident Amanda Martin.

“This is a project that I have been dreaming about for a very long time,” Martin said. “After many false starts, it looks like we have a very good chance of actually making this happen.”

Martin gauged neighborhood interest in the mural at the 2017 Glen Park Festival, garnering 43 signatures of support. She then looked for a location, finally settling on the side of Pebbles Cafe along Kern Street with the blessing of the Hayes family, which owns the building. To raise the estimated $7,500 needed for materials and Goldbaum’s time, Martin seeded an Indiegogo fundraiser with $3,000 and started to spread the word.

Interested neighbors are encouraged to share the link widely and donate if possible.

“Even $5 helps,” she said.  “We hope to start painting in May.”
