Have you heard that Glen Park is going to host our very own Art Walk October 7th on Diamond Street? Not only are local businesses inviting artists to display their creations, we’re excited to display your artwork in our first ever Tiny Art Show in the library debuting October 7th. Stop by to see the creative output of your neighbors and create your own artwork.
Ask at our service desk for your free 3-inch x 3-inch canvas to create a masterpiece. You are welcome to use any materials you have at home to create something special. Then, drop off your creation by October 1st, 2023 to have your artwork featured in the Tiny Art Show. Please note that we are only accepting one submission per person. Canvases are available while supplies last and the library reserves the right to exclude any works.
We’d also love for you to join us Friday, September 8th and/or Friday, September 22nd between 1:30 and 5:00 for our watercolor drop in events. Watercolor and Associates meets the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month to bring together community members interested in watercoloring and other painting. This community-driven program is the perfect place for members to learn basic skills and get advice from other participants. The library also provides materials for you to create something wonderful.
As always, the library offers programs for all ages throughout the month including storytimes Tuesday and Thursdays at 11am as well as Pajama Storytime at least twice a month including Wednesday, September 20th at 7pm.
We offer a wealth of programs for late elementary school and middle school students including two graphic novel book clubs, a writers group, and a special mandala rock painting session Thursday, September 14th from 4pm. And we hope to see you at the Cookbook Swap Sunday, September 10th at 2pm, our movie screening Wednesday, September 16th from 6pm or the Diabetes Empowerment Education Six-Week Workshop offered in partnership with On Lok Senior Center.
