4:12 pm, San Jose/30th, Possession Assault Weapon
Officers Daggett and Padilla were sent to investigate a suspect that was brandishing a rifle at people. The officers were working undercover at the time. As the officers drove by the location, they observed a subject that matched the description of the suspect. The officers watched the suspect as he tried to hide by a fence. Because the officers able to maintain visual contact with the suspect they saw him take off a backpack and then pull a gun out and toss it over the fence. By this time officer Murphy had arrived on scene. The officers converged on the suspect with weapons drawn. The suspect took off running to avoid capture to no avail. The suspect was taken into custody a short distance away. The officers recovered an assault rifle with a scope. The suspect was arrested and booked for the charges. Report number 110315822.
