Cup Café, a popular neighborhood hangout, has new owners.
Jaime Ismat and Veronica Duran took over the Glen Park eatery in early August. The cozy café in west Glen Park at 6 Monterey Blvd. serves breakfast and lunch from early morning until mid-afternoon. Locals have long appreciated the cheerful respite the cafe offers, with its quiet atmosphere and views of San Bruno Mountain.
The previous owners, Sam and Yami Rae, opened Cup Café in 2013. According to Veronica Duran, Sam has long been a close personal friend. New owners Jaime and Veronica have lived in San Francisco for 20 years. All three of their children attended Glen Park Elementary School.
So far, Cup has been doing a brisk business in sandwiches, espresso drinks and morning pastries. Almond croissants sometimes sell out. Jaime Ismat says he plans to expand the menu slightly, possibly including a Cobb salad in the near future.
