Glen Park Community Plan UPdate

February 15, 2011 by Elizabeth Weise

Hello everybody,

We continue to work away on the Glen Park Community Plan.  Right now we’re
in the process of refining the Plan based on input we received at community
meetings held last September and November.  We look forward to working with
you more over the next several months.  Expect to see us later this Spring
when we will hold meetings to discuss transportation improvements and
refinements to the Plan.  As always, if you have any questions or comments,
please contact me at 575-9069 or jon.swae@sfgov.org.  Also, if there are
any upcoming meetings or events you would like us attend, please let me
know!

Please find below some information on Plan-related events and
milestones….

1. Planning Commission Briefing on Community Plan
2. GPA Neighborhood Zoning Discussion
3. Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) Update
4. Glen Canyon Park Improvement Plan Meeting

1. Planning Commission Briefing
We will be giving a brief informational presentation to the Planning
Commission on Thursday, February 24th (City Hall, Room 400).  The
presentation will include an overview of the community process to date and
draft Plan.  While no decisions are being made, the Commission will be
taking public comment.  You are welcome to attend and share your thoughts,
support or questions with the Commission.
Please check agenda for time and calendar:

You can also view online at: http://www.sf-planning.org/index.aspx?page=7

2. GPA Neighborhood Zoning Discussion
The Glen Park Association (GPA) is organizing two upcoming Neighborhood
Zoning Discussions open to all. These focused group meetings will provide
an  opportunity for community dialogue on the zoning adjustments proposed
with the Plan.  Meetings will be facilitated by the GPA.  If you’d like
more information or are interested in participating, please contact
Nicholas Dewar at 587-6889 or NDewar@PPCollab.com
Saturday, February 19, 3:00 to 5:30 p.m.
Saturday, February 26, 3:00 to 5:30 p.m.
Both meetings will be held at the Glen Park Public Library

3. Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) Update
Staff and consultants are nearing completion of the Draft Environmental
Impact Report (DEIR).  The DEIR will present an analysis of potential
environmental impacts associated with the Plan.  Following its publication,
a 45 day public comment period will be opened.  We expect publication to
take place in March.  I will send an official announcement once the exact
date has been confirmed.  Stay tuned.

4. Glen Canyon Park Improvement Plan Mtg – Design Alternatives
The Recreation & Parks Department along with Trust for Public Land is
hosting the next in a series of Glen Canyon Park planning meetings on
Thursday (2/24).  The meeting will cover potential design alternatives for
Glen Canyon Park as part of the Improvement Plan being developed.  More
info at: http://sfrecpark.org/glenParkProject.aspx
Thursday, 2/24, 6:30 – 8:30pm
Glen Park Recreation Center

That’s all for now!
