Glen Park Crime Report: June 27-July 2, 2014

July 3, 2014 by Elizabeth Weise

Friday, June 27th, 2014

7:28pm 100 Blk Congo Grand Theft Auto
A cell phone app helped police recover a stolen vehicle. A man’s
pickup truck was stolen earlier in the day. Inside the truck was an
IPhone equipped with the “Find My IPhone App”. The victim had used the
app to locate his phone on the 200 block of Judson and reported the
location to the police. Ingleside Officers Thompson and Quintero went
to the location and didn’t find the phone, but did find the stolen
truck on the 100 block of Congo. The officers parked their patrol car
and sat on the vehicle a short while. A little later, an older model
green sedan drove up to the truck, a woman exited the front passenger
door, and entered the stolen vehicle. The officers quickly drove up
and arrested the suspect. Later, at Ingleside Station, she admitted to
finding the phone in the truck and tossing it into bushes near the 200
block of Judson. That’s where the officers found the phone which,
along with the truck, was returned to its owner. The suspect was
booked for grand theft auto and related crimes. Report number:
