Every year Halloween gets more and more elaborate in Glen Park. After all, Glen Park is the 35th coolest neighborhood in the world! (More on that in a future post. We still are digesting it.)
This year saw more people opening their extravagantly decorated garages, thus easing the burden of little ones having to climb all those stairs. Indeed one neighbor had a labyrinthine horror house set up leading to their backyard where there was a gigantic spider. Inflatable costumes are having a moment. One Superman costume was spotted, a few princesses, but overall anyone over a certain age wouldn’t have a clue what characters were being represented.
Everyone was out, from newborns to grandparents.
The Glen Park Association collected donations of candy, which were brought to Critter Fritters and distributed to neighborhood families by wagon, to cover any shortfalls. Candy is more expensive this year, even at Costco. The GPA also corralled volunteers to staff the barricades at the street closures for general safety and to assist cars that needed to enter Chenery Street.
