Any city dweller can tell you that pigeons are a dirty nuisance who wreak havoc on public spaces. They have a right to roam the earth just as we do but they need to stay out of our way. Take our Glen Park BART station. Pigeons fly around making a mess. What to do?
Falcons (and hawks) are used to scare pigeons away nonviolently. The Brits have been using them for years and BART has seized on this humane solution.
This Wednesday, August 13 at 10am, is your chance to see one in action at the hands of a trained falconer. A short meet and greet will take place at the BART station. On hand will be our new District 9 BART Director, Edward Wright, who organized this informal event.
