Welcome, new Ingleside Station captain

March 6, 2021 by SFPD Ingleside Station

As we transition into March, we find ourselves in a state of change here at Ingleside Station as well. As many of our readers are aware, district station captains are rotated throughout different assignments in our department, with both newly-promoted and tenured captains being transferred to new assignments. With that said, please join us in bidding farewell to Captain Chris Woon. We thank him for his guidance and support through what have been trying and eventful times during his tenure as the Commanding Officer of Ingleside Station, and express our thanks for his hard work, dedication, and involvement with the members of our community. We wish him continued success in his new assignment.

Likewise, we would like to welcome and introduce you to the new commanding officer of Ingleside Station, Captain Nicole Jones. Captain Jones is a San Francisco Bay Area native. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Arts degree in Anthropology from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She subsequently joined the San Francisco Police Department in 2007.

During her career, Captain Jones worked as an officer at Tenderloin and Ingleside Stations. Upon promotion to sergeant, she worked in investigations at both the Special Victims Unit and the Internal Affairs – Criminal Investigations Unit. As a lieutenant, she served in administrative roles at both the Chief’s Office and the Staff Services Division’s Staffing and Deployment Unit. Additionally, she served as a patrol lieutenant at Northern Station. Upon promotion to Captain, she was given command of Ingleside Station.

Welcome to Ingleside Station, Captain Jones!

We want to remind everyone that our next Virtual Community Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 16th., 2021 at 6:30 p.m. As part of the March meeting’s agenda of events, we will be dedicating a portion of the meeting to a presentation and discussion on:

  1.  Officer conduct
  2.  The process for filing a commendation or complaint against an officer
  3. The Department’s commitment to bias-free policing.

We invite everyone to join us that night. For those that are new to, or unfamiliar with our Virtual Community Meetings, we invite you to see pages 2-3 of our newsletter,

We hope to see you there. Stay safe everyone!

A huge thank you to @glenparkhistorysf Evelyn Rose, SF Planning, and SF Board of Supervisors President @rafaelmandelmand8 for a great talk on Glen Park history and SF Survey.

“SF Survey is a multi-year program by the Planning Department to identify and document places and resources of cultural historical, and architectural importance to San Francisco’s diverse communities.”

Stop in at the Glen Park Branch Library and check out photos of Glen Park Storefronts/buildings that have historical value!
