“Hey, hey, hey, it’s the ol’ Padre.”
That’s how Father Harry was introduced to San Francisco in
1973 on the old KFRC 610am with Dr Don Rose. Since then
the media world has changed and Father Harry and The God
Squad changed with it.
From that beginning intro in San Francisco radio, Father
Harry’s vision to communicate and comfort the youth of
America, grew to over 200 radio stations across the country,
through publically funded God Squad Productions, and ‘all
the ships at sea’, through American Armed Forces Radio,
carrying his message mixed with current music.
Father Harry, as he is still known, is now approaching his
80’s, but many
of us still remember him from our first introduction by the
beloved Dr. Don. Today’s audience has changed and you can
still catch him every Sunday in what is dubbed the Mass for
Shut ins, on KTSF (Channel 26) or KOFY (Channel 13) at
6:00am.
Because of changes in the media and the church itself,
Father Harry’s journey, as detailed in his book,
I’ll Never Tell,
Odyssey of a Rock and Roll Priest,
will probably never be repeated.
Join us on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 5:30-

6:30pm at Glen Park’s Bird and Beckett books and Records,
653 Chenery Street, off Diamond, to get a signed copy of
I’ll Never Tell.
As Father Harry says, it’s 5-cents for his
autograph, $19.95 for the book.
