Officers Otaguro and Morse responded to an auto boost call. The officers met with the victim and a witness. The witness stated that she was at her kitchen window when she heard a vehicle on the street. She looked out and saw an African American male with half of his body inside of her neighbors’ vehicle. She saw the suspect get out of the vehicle and into a waiting dark, older model, boxy shaped sedan and speed away. The victim stated that nothing was missing from the vehicle. Report number 110132018

10:08 am, Unit blk Joost, Harassing Calls

Wednesday, February 16, 2011
1:30 pm, Surrey/Swiss, Fraud/Scam
Officer Khan was sent to investigate a fraud case. The victim told the officer that an unknown male suspect contacted her and told her that her son was being held in Spain by authorities. The male so convinced the victim that she ran out and sent $2800 via Western Union. It was not until the victim was able to contact her daughter-in-law that she discovered that her son was still in the bay area. The suspect took too long in Spain to pick up the money thus there was no loss. Report number 110139707

1:32 pm, Addison/Diamond, False Registration
Lt Vintero was patrolling when he came upon a parked vehicle that was displaying current registration on the car, yet according to DMV the registration was expired. Because the registration was over six months expired the vehicle was towed and the plate was booked as evidence. Report number 110138129
