Crime report Feb. 3 – 7

The following are Glen Park crimes from the Ingleside Station Newsletter

Thursday, February 3, 2011
10:12 am, 200 blk Whitney, Burglary Arrest
Officer Daniels was contacted by Officer Phillips of the S.I.T. office regarding a burglary suspect that has been identified in a photo lineup. The officers then coordinated with Alameda Police who had already detained the suspect. Officers Daniels and Sgt Lozada responded to Alameda and met with Alameda Officer Summit. The officer told SFPD officers that the suspect came in to ask why the police were looking for him. Once there the SFPD officers conducted an interview which eventually ended with the suspect waiving his right to extradition to SF County for booking. Another burglar is in custody due to the tenacious work from the S.I.T. team, Ingleside Officers and Alameda police. Report number 110097127 This is the “Best Arrest of the Day”

12:00 pm, 200 blk Chenery, Theft from Locked Auto
Officer Morgante prepared an incident report for a victim who stated that her parked, locked and unattended vehicle had been broken into overnight and that her car stereo and Fastrak had been stolen from the vehicle. No suspect or witness information was provided. Report number 110112719

SAN FRANCISCO POLICE COMMISSION
ANNOUNCEMENT

The San Francisco Police Commission has begun the process of selecting nominees to
submit to Mayor Edwin Lee for the position of Chief of Police for the San Francisco Police Department. The Commission invites public participation in this process, including input from the public on preferred qualities and characteristics for the next Chief of Police.

Members of the public are welcome to provide public comment at the Commission’s regularly scheduled meetings, and to submit written materials to the Commission.

In addition, the Commission has scheduled three community events where Commissioners will meet with members of the public and listen to input regarding the qualities and characteristics sought in the next Chief of Police. Two or three Commissioners will attend each event, which are scheduled on the following dates at the following locations:

• Thursday, February 10, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the United Irish Cultural Center, located at 2700 45th Avenue. The UICC is providing the use of its facility for the event. The San Francisco Coalition for Responsible Growth is providing coffee.

• Thursday, February 17, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Southeast Community Facility located at 1800 Oakdale Avenue. The Southeast Community Facility Commission is providing the use of the Alex Pitcher Jr. Community Room for the event.

• Thursday, February 24, 2011, from 6 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the San Francisco LGBT Community Center located at 1800 Market Street. The San Francisco LGBT Community Center is providing the use of its facility for the event.
