Officer Morgante went to investigate a report of an auto boost on the
400 block of Arlington Street. He met with a victim and her friend,
victim #2, who said they were walking out of her house headed towards
her friend’s (victim #2) parked car. As they approached the car, the
friend hit her remote entry and they were both surprised to see that
the passenger door was already open. An unknown suspect immediately
got out of the front passenger seat and said, “Sorry, wrong car”, and
started to walk away. As he did so, the friend, victim #2, saw her
checkbook in the suspect’s back pocket. The suspect reached out to
hand her back the checkbook, but instead grabbed her Iphone out of her
hand.  After grabbing the phone he pushed her away. Victim #1 tried to
grab the suspect’s clothing, but was pushed away as well. The suspect
then ran down the St. Mary’s stairway headed towards San Jose Avenue.

victim looked down at his watch, the suspect forcefully removed the
laptop case from the victim’s arm and told the victim to get on the

or not, so the victim complied with the suspect’s demands. The victim
felt somebody pushing on the back of his head causing him to fall to

appeared and used their foot to pin the victim’s head to the ground.

6:38pm       4600 Blk Mission                  Robbery
(***NOTE: This incident took place at Mission & Ocean, but the
suspects were apprehended in Glen Park.***)
Officer Shugars along with numerous Ingleside units were dispatched to
the area of Mission and Ocean Avenue regarding a call of a robbery.
Upon arrival, Officer Shugars met with the victim, a Walgreens
employee, who stated that she was working at the front counter and was
helping a customer when a suspect walked up to the side of the counter
and said, “Give me the money, I have a gun”. The victim stated that
she was in fear for her life, so she opened the till drawer. The
suspect reached over the counter and grabbed the money from the till
and put it in his pockets. The suspect looked at the victim and said,
“Give me the rest of the money in there”. The victim then handed the
suspect a roll of $5 bills. The suspect grabbed the money and ran out
of the store in an unknown direction.

While at the scene, Officer Shugars was approached by a witness who
stated that she was walking to her car when she noticed that there was
a minivan parked behind her. She noticed that there were two people
sitting in the van. She stated that a short time later, she saw the
suspect running towards the minivan and entered the passenger side of
the minivan. The minivan immediately pulled into traffic and fled
Eastbound on San Juan Avenue in an unknown direction. As the minivan
pulled away, she wrote down the license plate number assuming that
something was wrong.

Officer Shugars then updated dispatch with the suspect’s description
and the vehicle’s license plate number. Dispatch ran the plate and
notified the officers that the registered address on the minivan came
back to the unit block of Addison Street.  Numerous units responded to
the location, where Officers Burke and Barajas located the minivan,
parked in a driveway, and occupied with 5 people. The officers
detained and searched the suspects, finding money on three of them.
The officers transported the witnesses who identified the suspects and
the vehicle used in the robbery. Three of the suspects were arrested
and transported to Ingleside Station where they were booked
accordingly. After further investigation, the two remaining subjects
were released from the scene. Report Number: 130191232.

Saturday’s Glen Park Greenway Work Party is Cancelled.

“I’m very sorry to say that
we have cancelled our Work Party for this Saturday July 12, along with all organized volunteer activity on the Greenway until further notice.
As you may have read in the news, our fiscal sponsor, San Francisco Parks Alliance (SFPA), has shut itself down. Just as SFPA has shut itself down, the Greenway, as an organized part of SFPA, has also been “shut down.” We are busy looking for a suitable alternative fiscal sponsor that is willing to replace SFPA. That search is going well but it is a slow process. We had hoped to find temporary ways to enable the Greenway project to function responsibly as a community activity without a fiscal sponsor. Sadly, despite our best efforts and the help of many others in Glen Park, we have failed. That is why we must cancel our Saturday Work Party and discontinue future work parties and other organized volunteer activity on the Greenway (like weeding and watering) until further notice. We recognize that the Greenway is public open space and that the organizers of the Greenway project have no control over the activities of you or of anyone else on the Greenway. However, if you do venture onto the Greenway to satisfy your urge for outdoor recreation, please be aware that your activity is not in any way organized or sanctioned by the organizers of the Glen Park Greenway project. I’m well aware of the efforts that many of the
Greenway’s supporters are making to get the Greenway organized with a new fiscal sponsor and I’m confident that this will be arranged within weeks or perhaps a few months.
However long it takes, I will contact you with news of our progress.
Many thanks for all that you do for the Greenway.”

Wonder what’s stopping just organizing it separate from that non-profit. It seems like the volunteers largely come from Glen Park.
