Farewell letter from Facility Coordinator of Glen Park Rec Center

January 10, 2020 by Oskar A. Rosas

Dear Glen Park Community,

As of Jan 24th, I am being reassigned from Glen Park Recreation Center to Richmond Recreation Center. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the past 10 years that I have been stationed at Glen Park Recreation Center and been part of this amazing community. Working alongside you was very rewarding and educational and I really appreciate all the help you have extended to me through the past years.

I would like to thank each of you for all the experiences shared, friendship made and the good times we had together. I would also like to thank some individuals and organizations who have had a profound effect on my experience at Glen Park. Thank you to the Glen Park Association and the Glen Park News especially Murray Schneider who’s help with getting the news out about Glen Park programs and events. It was invaluable. To Shauna Woods and Mike Gualco for their aid with canyon news and keeping me up to date with the goings on of the area of Glen Park. Mary Leman, our gardener, for her great work at keeping the park looking so good. To Maurice Bonnar our custodial supervisor who has been a true treasure and a fantastic co-worker.  To Chris Sequeira whose Low impact Qi Gong class has been a great addition to Glen Park and is one of the most popular classes we have. To Harry Lew and his tennis club that has been a wonderful group. Chito Aggalayn and his amazing Zumba Class; and too Wellington Chen and the fantastic pickle-ball players who have found a home at Glen Park and have been a real pleasure to work and play with. This list is probably too short since over the past 10 years I have worked with and alongside so many caring people.

It makes me wish that I had the chance to work with you more. Words are not enough to express my gratitude but I hope that one day our paths can cross again.

It doesn’t mean that am saying goodbye forever. You can still reach me at my email at (oskar.rosas@sfgov.org ) or via phone @ Richmond Recreation Center 451-666-7020.

Thank you again and I wish the community of Glen Park all the success in the world and Happy New Year.

Sincerely,

Mr. Oskar A Rosas

✨The Glen Park Night Market is back Saturday, September 19, from 3-8 PM, bringing an afternoon of live music, DJs, local makers, community fun, and plenty of reasons to come hungry. Wander the neighborhood, grab a bite at one of Glen Park’s great restaurants and cafés, discover local artists and small businesses, dance a little, shop a little, and hang out with your neighbors.
Bring your crew, bring the kids, bring your appetite — and leave the afternoon open.
Glen Park is turning the neighborhood into one big block party, and you’re invited!
