9:28pm Unit Blk Van Buren Hot Prowl Burglary
A homeowner was awoken by his dog barking. He went downstairs to check
on his dog when he saw two burglars in the hallway of his home holding
two camera bags. Seeing the homeowner, the suspects turned and ran to
the front door to escape. However, the homeowner was quick enough to
grab the camera bags and try to wrestle them from the burglar’s
control. A struggle ensued and the homeowner was dragged out the front
door and down the front steps suffering several cuts and abrasions.
The burglars relinquished control of the stolen merchandise before
escaping. Ingleside Officers McMilton, Cvetovac, Casey, and Peregrina
arrived soon thereafter and summoned an ambulance. A search of the
premises revealed that the burglars entered the home through a “doggie
door” in the back entrance of the home. The victim said he could not
identify the suspects if he saw them again. Report number: 140987714
