GP Spa Opens April 25

April 20, 2026 by Heather World

Wellness shots for everyone April 25, when Glen Park’s latest new business The Celtica Wellness Sanctuary celebrates its grand opening in the former Glen Park Dental space at 590 Bosworth!

From 10 a.m. to noon, visitors can scoop up swag, healthy snacks and discounts while touring the new digs and learn about the many treatments that will be offered there, from Swedish massage to mindfulness practice. Meet some of the therapists and swap health tips with District 8 Supervisor Rafael Mandelman, currently the president of the SF Board of Supervisors, who will welcome the new business to the neighborhood.

Founded by Kat Cullen, who boasts Welsh, Scottish and Irish roots, the spa features a waterfall set against a background of slate and wood meant to evoke the natural rugged coastline of West Wales.

“The core of our brand and treatments is water,” Cullen said, citing the Celtic Sea as inspiration.

When she opens, Cullen will have four practitioners on hand who can offer massage and bodywork, including targeted therapeutic deep tissue, Swedish massage, pre- and post-natal massage, sports massage and lymphatic massage. Add-ons include hot stones, skin scrubs and other enhancements. Some of those practitioners will be at the opening

Eventually Cullen hopes to hire a diverse range of practitioners to round out the business with mental health therapy, fitness and mindfulness training. Interested in joining the team? Apply here.

Keep an eye out for workshops around these topics as the business grows.

Cullen has lived in the neighborhood since 2015, but she’s originally from Wales. Her professional background is as diverse as her ancestry, working in web development, tech and local government. In search of a calmer work environment, she trained as a massage therapist in 2023.

“It’s helped me with my own physical ‘age bombs’ as an older parent with three still fairly young boys,” she said. In the course of her new career, she has had the opportunity to treat family members and friends recovering for surgeries and injuries, which has been a real gift, she said.

Tales of epic transformation abound in the ancient mythology of her Celtic ancestors, so perhaps it’s no surprise that Cullen nearly single-handedly shape-shifted the utilitarian former dental office into a peaceful spa, a journey well documented on her Instagram account.

Book appointments and learn more at www.celticawellness.com or when you drop by for the opening.
