Greenway Meeting

July 30, 2020 by Glen Park Greenway Project

Hello friends and supporters of the Glen Park Greenway,

Here’s some great news about the Glen Park Greenway: Please join us in a Zoom meeting at 6:00pm on Thursday, August 6, to learn about the Trail Improvement project that we are about to begin on the Greenway between Brompton Avenue and Chilton Avenue. The meeting will last 45 minutes. At the meeting we will:

  • Review the preliminary plan for trail improvement that was developed early last year and the changes that we’ve made to protect the roots of one of the pine trees that grows beside the trail at Lippard Ave.
  • Consider questions and open items about the plan (e.g. trail materials, accessibility, etc.). Possibilities include decomposed granite and “Parktread”

The meeting will be recorded and a link to the recording will be posted on our webpage so that you will be able to watch the meeting even if you are unable to participate at the meeting itself.

We ask you to register so that you can enter the virtual meeting. After registering Zoom will send you an email with access codes, so please allow a few minutes to complete registration before the meeting is scheduled to start, or register now and save your access code for the meeting. Here’s the link to the Registration Page:

We are very grateful to the organizations and individuals whose generosity has made this project possible. In addition to the continuing support of SFPW which owns most of the land on which the Greenway sits and the support of scores of volunteers who have contributed time and money to create the Greenway as a valuable feature of our neighborhood, I am very grateful to Supervisor Mandelman for approving Add-Back funds as the key-stone funding for this project, to the Community Challenge Grant Program for selecting the Trail Improvement project as one of its grantees for 2020 and to the community members who have also agreed to provide substantial funding to make this project possible.

I hope that you’ll be able to join our Zoom meeting and I look forward to launching this project with your support.

Sincerely
Nicholas
