18 new iPads stolen from Glen Park Elementary

In anticipation of the beginning of the school year on Monday, teachers at Glen Park Elementary were getting ready to give students a surprise: 18 brand new iPads. The devices had been recently donated by another teacher. The unveiling on the first day of classes would encourage 3rd grade students to work on “thousands of special projects,” said Jean Robertson, the school principal.

The school on 151 Lippard Avenue was robbed yesterday at around 3:30p.m, according police. “It appears that four people walked into the school through the front door during the work day and went through a few classrooms,” said spokesperson Danielle Newman.

“The suspects opened all doors and came in to take things. They took 18 iPads and a teacher’s wallet,” said Robertson.

Mission Mission broke the story this morning and published a photo of the surveillance footage taken by one of the school’s teachers. SFPD could not confirm that the people pictured in the images are the suspects, the footage is still under investigation.
