Our next work party will be on Saturday February 16! I hope that you’ll be able to join us.
We’ll start at 9:00 – there’ll be coffee waiting for you
Meet at the top of the Chilton Ave cul-de-sac beside 88 Chilton Ave.
We’ll stop at 12:00 – we’ll have sandwiches and cookies for lunch
This work party is all about sheet mulching. We need to follow up on the work that we did on January 26:
Lay cardboard and straw as a protective mulch on the ground that was cleared at the top of the Chilton Ave ramp. We need to do this soon or the Oxalis that we painstakingly cleared in January will grow back!
Continue to renew the cardboard and straw mulch around the 36 direct-seeded oak sprouts. We started this in December and are now over half-way through the task.
If there’s heavy rain on the day of the work party we will cancel. However, a light-drizzle will not be enough to dampen our enthusiasm!
