Next Greenway work party, Saturday, December 7

Hello Friends and Supporters of the Glen Park Greenway.

Our next work party will be on Saturday December 7! Please put in in your calendar. I hope that you’ll be able to join us. Please email me to tell me if you will be there: greenway@glenparkassociation.org.

  • We’ll start at 9:00 – there’ll be coffee waiting for you
  • Meet at the top of the Chilton Ave cul-de-sac beside 88 Chilton Ave.
  • We’ll stop at 12:00 – we’ll provide sandwiches for lunch

Please don’t park on Chilton Avenue – plenty of space in the cul-de-sac is needed by trucks dropping off tools etc. Parking on Bosworth is normally easy and conveniently close.

Please plan to join us for a sandwich after the work part of the party is done.

This work party will include the planting of native shrubs at the intersection of Chilton Avenue and Bosworth St. We’ve timed this so that the new plantings will (we hope) get plenty of support from the winter rains. In addition to the planting project we will:

  • Pick up trash! There’s always so much of it along Bosworth St
  • Lop off and uproot shoots from stumps and roots of trees that were removed in 2017
  • Uproot Broom plants
If it rains: if the rain is a drizzle or a light sprinkle we will continue with the work party as planned. If the rain is heavy we’ll cancel the work party.
