Opening very soon in Glen Park: French restaurant La Cigale

Glen Park can now boast a-one-of-a kind restaurant in the Bay Area. Local residents have been watching it take shape since last fall.

La Cigale, at 679 Chenery, has a prix fixe menu including tax and tips. There are 14 seats, for walk-ins only. Diners are seated at a massive hexagonal wooden counter for a set menu.

The owners are husband and wife Joseph Magidow and Daisy Linden. Magidow has past experience at Delfina and Tawla in the city.

La Cigale (cicada in English) features the cuisine of Occitanie, a region in southwestern France. Typically, French restaurants in San Francisco and elsewhere feature Parisian fare.
