Dear Ingleside Community,
As we welcome the month of October, we look forward to a number of seasonal events and activities. Fleet Week, Halloween, and the traditional abundance of treats are just around the corner. We encourage everyone to enjoy these celebrations safely and responsibly.
With the new school year well underway, we also want to thank our community for adapting to increased morning and afternoon school traffic. Please continue to drive carefully and remain alert in school zones to ensure the safety of our students and families.
October is also recognized as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. First observed in 1981 as a national “Day of Unity,” this month serves as a time to honor survivors, remember those lost, and unite efforts to end domestic violence. If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse, please remember: It is not your fault, and help is available. You are not alone.
Additionally, we encourage everyone to view the recently released Town Hall video addressing the officerinvolved shooting that occurred on September 4, 2025. The officers involved are members of the Ingleside Station and, thankfully, were not injured. The video highlights how rapidly a routine interaction can escalate into a life-threatening situation. We share this for transparency and awareness. Watch the video here:
We remain committed to keeping our community informed and engaged. Thank you for your continued support. Wishing you all a safe and enjoyable October.
Warm regards,
Captain Gerry Newbeck
