San Jose Ave closed Dec 5 & 6

December 4, 2015 by Heather World

From SFDPW:

San Jose Avenue (Randall St to Rousseau St) Roadway closed December 5 and 6 for the Highland Avenue Bridge Traffic Railing Replacement Project.

On Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6, 2015, we will begin removing the temporary scaffolding that was erected this summer for the traffic rail replacement work on the Highland Ave Bridge.

The Highland Avenue Bridge spans over San Jose Avenue which provides connection to downtown and the 280 freeway. We want to ensure safety during our construction, not only for the construction crews but also for users of San Jose Avenue below.

DURING WORK HOURS FROM 9:00AM to 5:00PM, SAN JOSE AVENUE FROM RANDALL ST TO ROUSSEAU ST WILL BE CLOSED TO ALL VEHICULAR/MOTORIZED TRAFFIC.

Scope of work: The contractor will be removing the scaffolding that was erected for construction. Plywood deck and debris net removal work will occur over the Muni tracks on San Jose Ave and over San Jose Ave. New streetlights will also be installed; two on each side of the bridge. Traffic

Impacts:

 Traffic on San Jose Avenue will be detoured at Randall Street and at Rousseau Street

 A bus bridge will be provided Saturday and Sunday, December 5 th and 6 th from 9 am to 5 pm.

 Pedestrian and bicycle lanes will be accessible to the public at all times. Work hours Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm Sunday, 9 am to 5 pm

[Editor’s note: It might have to be closed the following weekend too, if they can’t get the work done.]

The Highland Avenue Bridge will re-open December 2015!

We thank you for your cooperation and patience during construction. San Francisco Public Works www.sfdpw.org facebook.com/sfpublicworks twitter.com/sfdpw Official Notice from the City and County of San Francisco 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, City Hall, Room 348 San Francisco, Ca 94102
