Sunnyside Park Meeting Aug. 30

August 28, 2010 by Elizabeth Weise

MONDAY, AUGUST 30, 2010, 7:00 sharp – 8:30 PM, (Doors open at 6:30 PM)

Sunnyside Park CLUBHOUSE, (Mid-way up/down hillside; Melrose/Foerster/Teresita)

Beverages and Cookies

The future of small neighborhood parks seems precarious. Clubhouses are being leased out, programs and maintenance services are being concentrated in large parks, picnic tables are being rented so frequently that Locals won’t find one available for an impromptu picnic, and unless residents create events and pay fees to use facilities there would be little to no community-building activities. The Rec. & Park Dept. has a new “model” for their tax-paid services – what does that mean for neighborhoods without a large, full-service park?

JOIN US – all parks belong to all Citizens

Let’s ask the tough questions.

Let’s hear the answers and consider the alternatives.

Let’s see what we can do to make the best of a situation – whatever it is!
