Tell Rec & Park what you think on Saturday 10-12

October 29, 2010 by Elizabeth Weise

A correspondent notes: “This came in the Rec and Park newsletter. I’ve been to meetings run by Meredith Thomas of NPC, and I can tell you she runs a tight ship. If anyone can create a productive meeting, it’s her.”

==

The Neighborhood Parks Council (NPC) has heard your desire to have more access to park decision makers outside of formal City-run meetings and that you would like to discuss park issues in advance of decisions.

In response, we are hosting a series of Park Town Halls and inviting City and park officials to come listen to YOU. The first Town Hall is this Saturday, October 30 from 10am – Noon at the County Fair Building.

Now is the time to hear your views about managing our parks, get your creative solutions to challenges, and identify concerns BEFORE park decisions are made by officials. Now is the time to plan for our park system’s future.

Over the last year the Arlington Triangle, from Roanoke to Wilder, has transformed. After dozens of mulch deliveries, careful weeding (thank you Carol and Paul) and finally a functioning water supply (thank you Public Works) the corner is ready for the next phase. Come help make that happen with new plants, new trees and future amenities.
