Time change: Bikeshare Program Randall/Chenery walk through

November 21, 2018 by Bonnee Waldstein

Hello again Randall and Chenery Bikeshare station stakeholders,

The SFMTA Bikeshare Program staff plans to conduct collective traffic observations.

You are invited to participate. This exercise will allow us to collectively observe traffic conditions at the proposed location. While previous fieldwork has been conducted here by the GoBike operator and SFMTA staff, this event will provide the opportunity of a shared experience to ensure that analysis incorporates all recommended observational data.

If you can’t make this time, that is alright. You are still welcome to submit feedback regarding the proposed location; we will work to make sure that all input is given its due weight. If you’re receiving this notice, you have probably previously commented in regard to the station.

The school adjacent to the proposed bikeshare station at Randall/Chenery lets out early on Thursdays. The MTA also heard it could accommodate more of the public to offer two different weekdays for observation times.

We will move the afternoon observation time to Wednesday, Nov 28, 2:30-3pm.

We will keep the morning observation for Thursday, Nov 29, 8-8:45am.

If you can’t make these times, you are still welcome to submit feedback regarding the proposed location. All input is given its due weight

Thank you.

In March 2024 the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission removed 11 trees from four acres on the north side of O’Shaughnessy, just beyond where the last block of Bosworth makes a right turn. The eucalyptus trees were planted more than 100 years ago and were at risk of falling. Furthermore, access is needed for firefighters in case of wildfire in the area of Glen Canyon Park.
SFPUC was replacing the trees on December 9 with California native plants, which will attract birds, insects, and pollinators. “The goal is to extend the riparian corridor around Islais Creek in the canyon using native plants to create a fire break that also nurtures local fauna,” wrote Heather World in The Glen Park News when the plan was first announced.
Glen Park neighbors were invited to join in on Tuesday, December 9, 9:15am–12:30pm, for a volunteer workday.
