Two – Count ’em – Greenway Events!

August 2, 2018 by Stephany Wilkes

We have some upcoming work days on the Greenway, so please attend if you can and feel free to spread the word. We can always use more hands.

* Saturday, August 11, 9 AM-12 PM: We’ll have a Greenway Work Party to prepare the planting sites for new shrubbery – yeah! We’ll be working on the stretch between Brompton and Chilton Ave.

* Saturday, August 18, 9:30 AM-12:30 or 1:00 PM: We’ll have a Shrub Planting Party with Friends of the Urban Forest. We’ll plant the shrubs along the Greenway between Brompton and Chilton Ave. If you came to our tree-planting party last December you’ll remember how much fun this can be.

You must register beforehand here: https://www.fuf.net/…/sidewalk-landscaping-thursday-saturd…/

(A few notes of clarification: FUF’s webpage refers to our shrub planting project as “a special sidewalk garden project” but our project has nothing to do with the sidewalk, and everything to do with the Greenway. It also refers to the volunteer activities on the Greenway on August 16-17, but volunteers are NOT being recruited for events on those days. Please disregard that.)

Per usual, we’ll have some coffee and other food!
