Upzoning SF?

The city is contemplating new zoning laws to meet state housing requirements, and next week is your opportunity to learn more!

The Land Use Committee of Upper Noe Neighbors will host an informational meeting about rezoning Wednesday, April 2, from 7 to 8 p.m., featuring a land use lawyer and an architect. Get your questions answered! The meeting will be held at the Upper Noe Recreation Center, 295 Day Street.

Manny’s will host SF Housing Week, a week of housing-related events starting Monday, March 31, all from 6 to 7 p.m. at Manny’s, 3092 16th Street.

To Build or Not To Build: A Debate between Laura Foote of YIMBY action and Maria Zamudio of the Housing Rights Committee.

Tuesday, April 1
A History of Housing Policy in SF, featuring New York Times journalist Conor Dougherty

Wednesday, April 2
Affordable Housing 101, featuring Sam Moss of the Mission Community Housing Corp. and Dan Adams of the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development

Thursday, April 3
A New Zoning Map, featuring SF Planning Director Rich Hills to discuss the city’s new zoning map

Friday, April 4
The Rent is Too Damn High, featuring Fred Sherburn-Zimmer, Organizing & Policy Director of the Housing Rights Committee

The San Francisco Planning Commission will host an informational hearing on Expanding Housing Choice on Thursday, April 10, at noon, at City Hall, room 400.

  • Presentation of an updated Draft Rezoning Map and an overview of proposed Planning Code updates.
  • Discussion on the potential impacts of rezoning on small businesses, including possible policies and programs to support the small business community.
