Urban Angels launches 2023 school supplies and backpacks campaign

June 14, 2023 by Nelson Barry III

The donors, supporters and volunteers of Urban Angels SF are pleased to announce its 5th Annual School Supplies & Backpacks campaign will kick off on July 1, 2023.

1,000 unhoused elementary school boys and girls and others from families living below the poverty level in San Francisco will receive a free, new, high-quality backpack filled with new school supplies in the early days of August which will allow all of them to start the new school year with confidence and hope.

Urban Angels SF will be buying 1,000 backpacks and 1,000 packets of school supplies to insure that each child receives gifts of equal value. The purchase cost for each child is $25.

Starting now and continuing through August 1st, Urban Angels SF is inviting everyone to support this worthwhile campaign.

A donation of $25 will buy these important educational gifts for one child!

$250 will provide them for 10 children!!

$2,500 will take care of 100 children!!!

It is easy to make your tax deductible donation. Just go to www.UrbanAngelsSF.org and click on the donate button. All donations between now and August 1 will be allocated to this educational campaign.

Make checks payable to Urban Angels SF and deliver or mail them to the UASF office in the Diamond Heights Shopping Center (above Walgreens). Thank you for partnering with Urban Angels SF to help wonderful underserved San Francisco children with their education.

Congratulations to Sunnyside Elementary School for being awarded with a Glen Park Association Community Grant!
With that grant they were able to print a copy of The Ray for every student and staff at Sunnyside. The Ray, the school’s art and literary journal has been in publication for 17+ years.
🎥 This year’s theme is FILM, and students wrote scripts, designed movie posters, and painted Hollywood stars.
⭐️Glen Park Library, 2825 Diamond Street, features STARS made by Kindergarten classes, depicting their own Hollywood Walk of Fame.

See this and other student artwork from The Ray around Glen Park throughout the summer!
