You’re invited–More art in Glen Park!

September 27, 2025 by Renee Berger, project leader, Glen Park Beautiful

Bosworth Pedestrian Bridge will be painted.

Let your inner artist out!

Glen Park Beautiful invites you to be part of the Bosworth Pedestrian Bridge beautification project that will transform its present blandness into brilliance.  There will be three parts to the project over the next nine months: (1) painting the span/ramps, (2) blanketing the pillars with mosaics, and (3) creating a garden and landscaping on the bridge’s south side at Glen Park Elementary School and on the north hillside around the pillars.

Pillars on Greenway, north side of pedestrian bridge, will be covered in mosaic tiles.

Please come ready to collaborate and share your creative thinking with internationally recognized artist Ross Holzman, who did the mosaic on the west exterior wall of Glen Park Elementary School.

Detail of pillar.

Read about his impressive work here.   The form of the pillars works wonderfully with geometric shapes.  Think of beautiful Ohlone baskets, Navajo designs, those of African tribes and other indigenous populations.  The meetings will be at the Glen Park library and they will have books available for inspiration.

There will be two meetings, one for brainstorming and the other to comment on the design.  Space is limited and you are encouraged to reserve a spot for one or both meetings!

Brainstorm Meeting:                   October 11, 2025

3:00pm – 4:30pm

Reserve here for October 11

Comment Meeting :                     November 1, 2025

3:00pm – 4:30pm

Reserve here for November 1

Time flies:

Please hold October 25th from 1pm – 3pm to join your fellow Burnside Mural and Tiled Steps enthusiasts for festivities at the Burnside Steps that will include a bluegrass band, food and surprises.

It’s our first anniversary!  Be there at 1pm to applaud the SF Stairway Month 2025 walkers completing the Truly Terrific: Tiled to Tiled Stairway Walk that they began at the Hidden Gardens steps at 9:30am.

More details will follow in October.
