What did the GPA accomplish for the neighborhood this year?

Quite a bit! And almost all of it involved partnerships. We can’t improve and inform the neighborhood without you, and we can’t do it without our partners (including our partners at City Hall and beyond). Please join us!
Here are some highlights:
Hosted four quarterly meetings that sometimes resulted in immediate improvements, like a larger stop sign and more visibility at Chenery and Elk and repaired lighting in the BART station. We connected you with leaders who influence Glen Park, like District 8 Supervisor Rafael Mandelman, new Ingleside Precinct Captain Gerald Newbeck, and BART Director Edward Wright.
Join us for our January 29 meeting at St. John School, 925 Chenery Street, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., to elect this year’s GPA officers and to hear from our local representatives, including City Attorney David Chiu!
The GPA also awarded two $1,500 grants to folks doing great work in the neighborhood: the Glen Park Greenway and Sunnyside Elementary School to fund its literary journal, The Ray (pages of which can be seen in businesses around Glen Park).
Partnered with Civic Joy Fund to host four Night Markets from June to September, three block parties and one fantastic Halloween on Haunted Chenery.

Partnered with Refuse Refuse to host 11 neighborhood cleanups, yielding 337 bags of trash, as well as three suitcases, a weed-whacker, an office chair, and two shopping carts.

Partnered with the Glen Park Greenway to provide insurance for its cleanups after its fiscal sponsor folded. During 2025, 115 people volunteered at the Greenway’s monthly Work Parties: more than in any year since the Greenway project began in 2012. Concrete aprons were placed where the trail joins Brompton, Lippard and Chilton, reducing the erosion of the trail at these locations.
We also partnered with the Bernal Cut Project, Glen Park Beautiful, Glen Park Neighborhood History Project, Upper Noe Neighbors and the Diamond Heights Community Association, advertising cleanups, events, and beautification projects.

Finally, we come to the blog itself, where we post breaking news, news you can use, monthly columns, plus the occasional story about interesting neighbors:
