10th Anniversary Retrospective: Dear Glen Park, Happy New Year

December 31, 2018 by Bonnee Waldstein

To celebrate the Glen Park Association Website turning ten years old, we are reposting some of our favorite stories from the last ten years. It was a clear chilly night in Glen Park on New Year’s eve. A number of people chose to ring in the new year close to home. Manzoni was open for […]

City Agency Hearings + Mandelman Legislation

December 28, 2018 by Heather World

City government is on vacation this week, but here’s some good news: MUNI will be free from 8 p.m. on December 31 through 5 a.m. on January 1, and BART will run until 3 a.m. I’m looking forward to watching the wheels of bureaucracy turn with my neighbors in 2019!

City Agency Hearings + Mandelman Legislation

December 14, 2018 by Heather World

Of interest: Lime Scooter’s appeal of its ban was heard today. Agenda The SFMTA Board of Directors will meet Tuesday, December […]

December 10, 2018 by Caroline Grannan

I have a granddaughter born Sept. 25, and I just wanted to say how helpful the Glen Park Parents listserv has been in equipping her and her parents and helping them all feel cared for! My San Francisco-born-and-bred son and his wife (and baby) live in Wisconsin, and don’t have a baby network yet, but […]

A Nuthatch Family Makes A New Home

December 5, 2018 by Murray Schneider

Richard Craib raised his family on Turquoise Way, his backyard abutting the upper reaches of Glen Canyon. This summer he oversaw a family of white-breasted nuthatches at the house he built and has lived in since 1962. Craib recently sat in his living room, which overlooks a mini-forest of pines, cypresses and redwoods. A barn […]

Glen Park Association Newspaper Editorial

December 4, 2018 by Stephany Wilkes

Housing may be the hottest topic in Glen Park. Whether it’s sky-high sale prices, displacement of dear neighbors, a basketball court on Everson or the future of the BART lot, the Glen Park Association hears about nothing quite so much as housing. Opinions vary—and strongly—from one person to the next, but there is at least […]
